Interview with Keegan Whitten - State Representative Player from Illawarra Australia

 

Keegan Whitten hails from Illawarra NSW Australia and has been around hockey his whole life. Keegan started playing hockey when about 8 years ago when he was 6 years old.

Keegan plays for his local club Wests Illawarra has also played in regional representative teams and for two state representative teams. Keegan's favoured position is attacking midfielder.

 

What does your typical game day look like?

My typical game day looks like waking up at around 7:30 I then get ready and go to the hockey fields I will usually then umpire a game before playing a game myself after my game I will usually umpire another game.

What was the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?

To play left back.

What is the biggest lesson that hockey has taught you?

Hockey has taught me never to give up and to always keep on trying.

What is your training routine?

I train for 2 hours on a Thursday because I have other sports on other days of the week.

What skill are you most looking to improve on this year?

I am looking forward to improving my 3D skills and my hitting.
